Tammy Anderson-Owens- Thoughts

Take the BAD out of your world!

I realize that with all the media and talk about the economy that it can sometimes be tough to look on the bright side of things but we have to to survive.  I decided to give a few tips to help if you are having trouble.

1.  Make a poster board with your dreams and goals on it.  Put it somewhere where you see it all the time.  Focus on those things that you want and keep thinking about them.  Don't think about how you aren't going to get them - Focus on how you are!!

2.  Learn from "The Secret" - Find something, anything; some sort of token and keep it with you at all times.  Put it in your pocket and every time you touch it think about how thankful you are to have what you have in life.

3.  Before you go to sleep at night, write down all the good that happened in your day and the things that you are thankful for.  Look at it first think in the morning.

4.  Smile - Even if you don't want to!  Sing - Even if you can't carry a tone!  Dance - Even if you have two left feet!  Laugh - Even if you want to cry!

It will help change your whole attitude when your body sends a different message to your brain

5.  Be around people that make you happy, stay away from people that make you unhappy.  Hang out with people you want to be like, stay away from people you hope to never be!

6.  If the news is getting you down - TURN IT OFF!  Don't turn it on first thing in the morning unless you need to see the traffic.  Do not start your day off on a bad note!

7.  Get up and move!  Exercise!  I don't mean you have to run a marathon but at least walk for 15 minutes a day - It will change your mood - I promise!

8.  Now that you have moved - STOP!  Meditate, rest quietly for a few minutes to reflect on the positive.  Think of something beautiful and peaceful.

9.  Spend time with the ones you love.  Make the time to do it, don't put it off!

10.  Think about what you want out of life, now focus on it and keep focusing on it, IT WILL COME IF YOU HAVE THE FAITH!  Never "TRY" (as my awesome coach often tells me) trying is an excuse for not getting it done!  DO IT!

If you do these 10 things everyday you will be amazed at how your life will improve!  Try it - What do you have to lose?

Tammy,

Love it. Dance and sing. I like to whistle also. Keep it upbeat and positive. :)

I wish I could whistle Steve, I've just never been very good at it.  lol.  We all need to keep upbeat and positive during these times.  It will get better and we will all learn great lessons from what's going on!

Pat - I made a poster at the beginning of the year and now I need to make a new one!  It works.

Sharon - Thanks, we all need to look up and forward.

Amazing! I just wrote a blog about similar things. God must be directing us to get the message out to stay positive in these times. I know that because I am noticing these messages popping up everywhere. Great blog.

Thank you for this helpful reminder. There's always something to be thankful for and happy about. There's so much good in the world, why ponder on the bad.

Rosland - I read your blog and it is beautiful.  Thanks

Teri - I have always believed that in every person there is good and in every situation there is good.  Sometimes it's hard to find but it's always there.

Hi Tammy,

I try to put my faith in God not the circumstances. Then things seem to work out for the better. The only problem is when I not having faith you get all screwed up. I really like the dancing part and getting out and doing something outside. For me the ocean is an outlet. A good windsurf or surf session really mellows me out.

Steve - I agree with putting your faith in God.  I also agree with getting outside and smelling the fresh air whether you are at the ocean, mountains or in the middle of a corn field.  It's all beautiful nature that was created for us.

Some days you tend to forget all the good things.  Those are the days you need to try to remember the hardest.

Jack - You are so right.  We should all put a big sign up to help us remember to remember the good!

Tammy, great advice!  Thank you for sharing it!  We must remember what we already have that is good, and seek to find more good.  Thanks again.

Nice post, and so very true Tammy.  I've got the dream board in my home office.  It reminds me of the great life I can give my husband if I work a little extra hard when I'm looking for an excuse not to.

Trunda - Especially now we have to stay positive or the negative will eat us alive!

Tony and Darcy - You are so right, there is so much to be thankful for when you open your eyes in the morning.

Kristina - Good for you!  Keep up the good work!

Norma - Thanks for the kind words, I'm just starting to get the hang of this blogging thing.
